Observation
2)c) There were several cords in areas that will be accessible to children while in care. There were loose cords behind the television, behind open shelves, and from a light fixture that need to be secured, blocked by furniture, or removed. There were cords from appliances in the kitchen that were accessible through open shelving. There is a loose cord on a light fixture at child level in the closet in the living/play room. 2)d) There was a plastic bag in the bathroom in an open closet that will be accessible to children. The bag was partially filled with toilet paper but would pose a hazard and needs to be made inaccessible. 3)a) There were razors hanging from the shower caddy in the bathroom. This will be accessible to children in care so the razors cannot be stored there. 3)b) There is an exposed pipe on the front of the furnace where the protective foam barrier has peeled off. The applicant reported that this pipe does become hot. This area will be accessible to children on their way in and out of the outdoor play area or during emergency exiting out the back door. 3)c) There is a bifold door on the closet in the living room play area that poses a pinching hazard. 3)d) The washing machine and clothing dryer pose a hazard of entrapment as they do not have safety latches to keep them inaccessible to children. 3)f) There was one tall shelf in the living room play area that could tip over on a child and was not anchored to prevent tipping. 4)c) There was a glass fluorescent light mounted in the closet in the living/play room that will be accessible to children in care. 5)a) Electrical outlets throughout the licensed space are not tamper resistant. 5)b) Electrical outlets in the kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom are not tamper resistant.
